vill17 Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 hello im new here and pretty much to autocad as well. Im an architecture student and right now trying to find out the way to change the scale on floor plans. The plans need to be scaled to 1/8=1'0" thank you in advance. Quote
ReMark Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Draw everything full size in model space. Switch to a layout. Layouts give you access to paper space. Create a viewport or viewports. Assign a scale to the viewport itself. Or, did you scale the drawing to begin with like one would do if it was being drawn on a drafting board manually? In which case you'd have to use the Scale command. Quote

ReMark Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Draw the floor plan in model space. Set Units to architectural. The precision is up to you. If a dimension is 8'-0" that's what you draw it. If a dimension is 4'-3" that's what you draw it. What's the scale of the drawing? 1"=??' Quote
ReMark Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 I'm assuming you're using an architect's scale to do take offs from the paper floor plan? If so, I might set precision to 1". Anything less than that would be fairly tough to measure accurately anyway and in the case working with whole numbers (inches) will probably be easier too. Quote
