Creating rectangular Corridors in AutoCAD Civil 3D

I wasn't sure where to post this thread so hopefully someone can help me on this matter. I've encountered a bit of a problem. I have to build a corridor around a design that has squared off corners and when I go to build it, the corridor randomly tapers off when it reaches a corner (instead of continuing around the corner, maintaining the overall shape of the corridor). I've been told that corridors work beautifully when the corners are rounded but in my case it has to remain at ninety degrees. The alignment that I'm using is also, continuous and closed. Is there any way to have the corners join up better? I hope this is enough information to get a discussion started.

Thanks in advance,

Jaden

You may need to create separate regions at each corner, starting and stopping at the station of each inside corner. Then keep those regions "blank", with no subassemblies, and draw in the corners with Feature Lines.

Sinc, do you create corridors for existing topography? Is that something that I should look into as a surveyor that does no design?

Not entirely sure what you mean by "corridors for existing topography"...

Corridors are a rather powerful tool. But we typically use them as a calculation tool, for construction stakeout. We've also had a couple of times where the "Mill and Overlay" subassemblies have come in very useful. We don't use Corridors all that often, but they come in very handy for some jobs.

I can't think of any way they would help create a standard topo survey, though... The main tools there are the Description Keys and Point Groups, the auto-linework coding, and the ability to create breaklines created from Survey Figures.

Okay, cool! Speaking of construction staking -- do you all build surfaces for machine control?
