changing a 'solid' to a 'hollow'... ?

as per the attached, I'd like to munipulate a model using solids, etc (cutting sections, etc) but have it print without the big ol ink blob....(i.e. 'hollow' ? )

 

anyone know how to achieve this?

ok I think I just figured it out

 

if you do a 'hide' command before plotting the 'solids' go away.....

you can change your shading options or change the actual color assigned to your tank. I usually assign a light grey to large objects when printing on the plotter.
