FYI, DDP (mine) just processed 4480 points and deleted all duplicates in 172 milliseconds - 0.172 seconds.

I can't believe I haven't said this sooner, but have you tried OverKill? Granted, as I (and Lee) have said, you are not going to get much better results than from what I submitted.

it's depends on your machine, but on mine (ddp) took 50 secs for 34000 points and yes delete dups, but my routine do the same task and delete dups and took 5 secs

sure i've tried overkill but it stucks for 170.000 points :)

I'm done with the task. As I said earlier, Alan's routine is as far as I would optimise it. IMO you are wasting yours and Alan's time.

Agreed. The only reason I'm still playing along is that I've finished and made submittal and it's too late in the day to start something new. I'm just waiting out the clock. 20 minutes to go...

Then entertain me: what's the purpose of everything you are doing in your routine? I'm completely baffled by everything you are having it do. Especially since I have you an incredibly fast and concise way to perform such an action.
