Is it posibble to make two viewports of the same drawing have different colors and linetypes? I have this drawing wherein I used the general drawing as my key plan. The problem is I need to make the lineweight of my keyplan lighter than the general drawing.

Starting with 2009, yes you can.

I am able to do it in acad2008 LT also.

double click inside your viewport & than open layer manager, so you will see extra options related to vp as shown here in screenshot. so you can asign different color,linetype & lineweight which will apply to that viewport only.

Is that something that was released in 08'? Does it work for xrefed layers?

i am not sure, when was it introduced but it is availble in 2008LT

AND yes it does work for xref layers as well. I alos discovered it recently while working on someone lese's drawing who had 20 layouts in one file.
