manchest Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Hi all I have a 3D dwfx file that I can open with Autodesk Design Review. Design Review allows me to turn layers on and off and rotate round the drawing. I want to take measurements from the drawing, which I thought I should be able to do if I inserted the file into AutoCAD. I am using AotoCAD 2009 and get a error message when I try to insert the dwfx file "you have selected an invalid or unsupported dwf file" Should I be able to insert this file into AutoCAD? or is it not possible Thanks for your help Quote
ReMark Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 From your own AutoCAD Help files: "DWFx files can be opened and printed instantly using the free Microsoft XPS Viewer, which comes pre-installed on computers using the Microsoft Windows Vista® operating system." "Currently, the Microsoft XPS Viewer does not support sheets containing 3D content..." Quote
JD Mather Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 You should be able to take measurements in Design Review unless the originator of the intellectual property elected to turn off this functionality to protect their property. Probably the easiest solution would be to request a dwg from the owner of the IP. Quote
