Bogbadbob658 Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 Is it possible to turn off snapping to elements in xref?. I only want to use the xref as an overlay but it's rather a large file with loads of objects. Quote

No 'concrete' solution, but there are some options listed here: http://www.experts-exchange.com/Software/Photos_Graphics/CAD_Architecture/AutoCAD/Q_23109007.html Quote
Cad64 Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 When I follow that link, it says I have to sign up for a 30 day trial in order to view the answers. As a general rule, I do not recommend doing this, but if you just want to temporarily make the xref unselectable, move it to layer Defpoints and then Freeze layer 0. Just be sure to set everything back to normal before closing, so as not to confuse the next person who opens your drawing. Quote

I tried this but it seems to work the same as layer on/off. i.e. if you regen you lose the image of what ever is on defpoints? I work with ucsfollow set to 1 and frequently change my ucs which of course means it does a regen automatically. Quote
