Ryder76 Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 looks like we might have to wait a little longer. Like "waiting for 'The Eagles' to put out their last album" wait a little longer? Quote
DNK Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 You can do so by inserting a nested block, then exploding it down one level so that a single 'free floating' text element references the attributed block. Quote

DNK Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Huh? :? Insert the attached block. Explode. Edit the attributed block (bottom right number + rectangle) Refresh and the text element in the top left will update. BLOCK2.dwg Quote
dbroada Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 but isn't that where we were several posts back. Two independent entities that are texturally linked but no longer part of a block? Quote
DNK Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 but isn't that where we were several posts back. Two independent entities that are texturally linked but no longer part of a block? It can be inserted into a drawing so that you only type the attribute once and the text will update. You can not get a block to reference values within itself, but this can be used over and over again from drawing to drawing, and multiple times within the same drawing. Quote
dbroada Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 which is what I was trying to say two days ago. Quote
cadanator Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 I am attempting to make a block for elevations for four possible potions but only want 1 set of attributes. I've tried the field suggestion from earlier in this post with no luck. TIA Quote
