galanm Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 While trying to place a ladder, I get the error "bad argument type: numberp :nil." I also get a large rung number and a few squigly lines. I believe I have all the drawing format values correct but what am I missing? Quote
dbroada Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 what values do you have? Mine is like this (although I haven't used an automatic rung & ladder yet)..... Quote
dbroada Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 the numberp nil error is from the underlying LISP. Have you ever been able to draw a ladder? What happens if you just put down wires and add a rung? Quote
galanm Posted May 18, 2010 Author Posted May 18, 2010 I can open the IECDEMO an draw ladders all day long. If I put down 2 wires and try to create a rung between them, I never can highlight the wire to place and I get "0 placed." Quote
galanm Posted May 18, 2010 Author Posted May 18, 2010 It looks like it is trying to draw the ladder extremely large. Quote
dbroada Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 tedious I know but compare each setting in turn. After I posted that screen shot I tried adding a ladder and realised the dialogue box didn't default to the project properties so I too got a very large ladder with just one rung (but no numberp error). galanm Posted May 18, 2010 Author Posted May 18, 2010 If I want to attach a screenshot do I just upload it then select it for the attachment? Quote
galanm Posted May 18, 2010 Author Posted May 18, 2010 I've matched drawing formats and insert ladder settings and I still get an over-sized rung number and the ladder is drawn too big and with diagonals randomly placed. Anybody else seen this. I can add ladders to existing drawings with the same settings and it works fine. Also the grid appears to be larger than the sheet. Quote
dbroada Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 oooh, that isn't right! I'd still be worried about the numberp error. It could be a funny for just yesterday (a re-boot often cures AutoCAD's ills) but if it continues today I would consider a repair or re-install of AutoCAD. Check with your dealer for best approach. This error may be the first visible sign you have of future problems. Quote
