Newb! I need help to 'blend' a line to a part...

I think the picture will explain what I am trying to do. I want to 'hide' or 'blend' the line?

 

How can I do this?

 

I know I could get around this by redrawing the separate parts which make up the frame but it would take more time up.

I wouldn't spend 10 seconds worrying about those lines (I actually find then quite useful) but you can turn them off under Tools>Application Options>Display

 

...bit easier in 2011.
