rocneasta Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 I've just discovered that AutoCAD doesn't save some of the settings in it's options dialog - things like Contour lines per surface, and Draw true silhouettes for solids and surfaces... Making a profile doesn't affect it, nor simply setting it and closing it down. Is it something that was from back when i started with CAD R14 just that i failed to notice, or is it something new. system variable dependable? Quote
Dana W Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Is this it? I am only running 2d LT but seems it might be. Tools -> Options -> Didplay -> Display Resolution. Controls arc and circle smoothness, and number of segments in a polyline curve. Quote
rocneasta Posted April 22, 2010 Author Posted April 22, 2010 it is, but my question was why doesn't it save when setting the desired number. Profile that i saved doesn't affect it unfortunately nor it saves the values upon exiting and restoring the programme Quote
Car5858 Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 You need to select "save changes to workspace" Quote
Cad64 Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 The VIEWRES setting is saved in your drawing file. If you want to set the default for new drawings, you should specify the VIEWRES setting in your template files. Quote
rocneasta Posted April 25, 2010 Author Posted April 25, 2010 setting it in template is yet again only affecting the files opened via that particular template. Hmmm Tnx lads. Quote
Cad64 Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 If you set VIEWRES in a drawing, then save and close it, when you open that drawing again, your VIEWRES setting should still be applied. But if you open a different drawing, the setting you used in the previous drawing will not be applied because you have to set it independently for each drawing. Quote
