Can't see edit points anymore

Sometime during yesterday I stopped being able to see the edit points on any lines or polylines.

 

I can select them, move and copy them, but not edit their shape as I the edit points/handles don't appear.

 

Have I broken something?

I doubt very much that you've broken something, type in OP to bring up the options dialogue and go to the 'selection' tab. On there you'll see all the options for your Grips or Handles as you call them. Make sure your grips are enabled and have grip tips enabled, it's entirely up to you if you want grips within your blocks, I find it better to have them enabled as well though. Also check your grip size with the slider bar.
