busseynova Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Sorry if this has been discussed before, I did search... On my computer at home, when I open the Layer Proerties Manager, it opens in an ACAD toolpallette type menu which I can dock/expand/hide etc. On my platform here at work it opens up in a seperate Windows type, well, window. Is there any way to control this? Thanks:) Quote
alanjt Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Layer or ClassicLayer The dockable palette for the Layer Manager was introduced in '09. Quote
busseynova Posted April 8, 2010 Author Posted April 8, 2010 Both of those bring it up in a window still. It's the pallette version that I wish to use. Confused as to why the same command would work two different ways on two different computers, but I'll be happy if I can just get the dockable one to work. Oh, should have said, I'm on 2010. Quote
busseynova Posted April 8, 2010 Author Posted April 8, 2010 This is what comes up using either commands: LAYER or CLASSICLAYER or the ribbon button (which has the command LAYER also). Quote
poorestchump Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Have you tried LAYERDLGMODE set to 1? jb Quote
alanjt Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Have you tried LAYERDLGMODE set to 1?jb Didn't know that one. Granted, I probably open the layer manager once a month. Quote
poorestchump Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Apparently Autodesk thinks it's a pretty worthless variable - it's supposed to be eliminated in future versions. Quote
busseynova Posted April 8, 2010 Author Posted April 8, 2010 Excellent! That's got it. Thanks a lot! Quote

poorestchump Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Great! I'm beginning to feel pretty worthless (like that variable) since I can't seem to solve my own problems. jb  Quote
