Sorry if this has been discussed before, I did search...

On my computer at home, when I open the Layer Proerties Manager, it opens in an ACAD toolpallette type menu which I can dock/expand/hide etc. On my platform here at work it opens up in a seperate Windows type, well, window.

Is there any way to control this?

Thanks:)

Layer or ClassicLayer

The dockable palette for the Layer Manager was introduced in '09.

Both of those bring it up in a window still. It's the pallette version that I wish to use. Confused as to why the same command would work two different ways on two different computers, but I'll be happy if I can just get the dockable one to work. Oh, should have said, I'm on 2010.

Post a screenshot of the problematic manager.

This is what comes up using either commands: LAYER or CLASSICLAYER or the ribbon button (which has the command LAYER also).

Didn't know that one. Granted, I probably open the layer manager once a month.

Apparently Autodesk thinks it's a pretty worthless variable - it's supposed to be eliminated in future versions.

Excellent! That's got it. Thanks a lot!

I'll definitely miss ClassicImage and ClassicXRef.

Great! I'm beginning to feel pretty worthless (like that variable) since I can't seem to solve my own problems.
