ica_cici Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Can I calculate surface area of several complex solid objects assembly using Autocad? If I want to calculate mass/weight then I use Region/Mass Properties inquiry, but if I want to calculate the surface area, what command should I use? Is it possible to calculate it by Area inquiry? Thanks for help. Quote
MSasu Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 I think that only plane faces will be counted when apply AREA command on a solid (using Object option). Regards, Quote
ica_cici Posted April 6, 2010 Author Posted April 6, 2010 Does it means that the Area command can not be applied to an object with irregular holes? So, The surface area of this solid (see picture) can not be calculated by the Area command? I tried to apply the command to both of union solids and the single solid before assembly and I got same values. If I multiply the single solid area to 15 pcs (3.4866 X 15) it's equivalent with the union solids area. Are those two areas same as surface area? (in other word, can I consider them as surface area?). Regards, Quote
