Tankman Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 Check this link for dimensional data http://www.engineersedge.com/structural_shapes_menu.shtml Don't know where you might find a structural steel tutorial. Sounds like a good idea though! Quote
dannysteel Posted March 25, 2010 Author Posted March 25, 2010 REMARK, well i wanna learn how to detail the structural steel parts,i know all about the materials(angles, beams, tubes, etc.)what i wanna learn is how to detail like connection plates.basically like the detail on a print, like for example @ my work they give a print and i start fabricating the part(beams or structural shapes),but this whole part has loose parts(detail) and that's what i want to learn how to draft the detail.Connection plates with holes.can you help me. Thanks Tankman for the link, I know about dimensional data in my head. Thanks for your help anyways. Quote
Tankman Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 dannysteel, exactly how I got started drawing and then AutoCAD! If you know the dimensions, plates, weldments, shapes, you can draw as built. Start drawing! Quote
ReMark Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 The Manual of Steel Construction - Volume II Connections might be of some help. Some topics covered are bolted connections, simple shear connections and moment connections. Quote

qball Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Do you mean the actual Autocad Structural Detailing? I found this with a google search. http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc/index?siteID=123112&id=12300313 I have that program but I've just been using Vanilla Acad. I'm looking into the features of it now, but I have a feeling that it's not going to give the company the flexibility desired. Quote
