sparkyuk
Got a hard copy of a drawing through the post and the dado trunking shows up as a dashed line, but when i try to print from the cad drawing that they sent me they come out a solid, now in model space these line are white dashed a per my pics attached but in paper space they are black solid lines, can anyone explain why this is please?. If it helps im not so sure that this cad was drawn using auto cad as when i opened it all the isulation layers etc are well over sized to the drawing if thats a clue ? edit just notice all the dashed lines in model space are solid in paper space
TheCan
Hi! Try to change PSLTSCALE to 0.
sparkyuk
Thanks TheCan that sorted it, any ideas why it defaulted to 1 ?
nancysb
DASHED LINES ARE SOLID IN VIEWPORT! I've tried the suggestions from sparkyuk dated 4th March, 2010, but it doesn't work. I've set the PSLTSCALE to 1 (and to 0) and LTSCALE to 1 I've gone into the Linetype Manager and made sure hat all the dashed lines did not have "use paper space" checked. I don't know what else to do. My dashed lines will not show up as dashed in my viewports or when Iplot! Thanks.
rkent
Just a guess - go into the viewport and set SHADEMODE to 2D.
nancysb
Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't see a place to set "SHADEMODE". I opened up Viewports and my choices were: Viewport Spacing; Setup (which is set to 2D); Change View to: ; and Visual Style (which is also 2DWireframe. Any other ideas? Thanks for any/all help! rkent
type SHADEMODE, enter, 2D, enter while in a layout viewport

MikeScott
Use your properties window, select the dashed line, and change the linetype scale up and down, regenerating between changes..
nancysb
Kencaz, Thanks for your beautiful animation! I've tried this, and I still don't have dashed lines in my viewports, only in my Model. I've even tried setting the scale to ). NOthing works...(so far)
nancysb
Mike Scott, Thanks, I"ve tried your suggestion as well (set the line all the way from 0 to 3!), regen all, and it still doesn't work.
MikeScott
Try values like .125 .5 .75 etc.. Setting the psltscale value to 1 From Cad 2006 help: Controls paper space linetype scaling. 0 No special linetype scaling. Linetype dash lengths are based on the drawing units of the space (model or paper) in which the objects were created. Scaled by the global LTSCALE factor. 1 Viewport scaling governs linetype scaling. If TILEMODE is set to 0, dash lengths are based on paper space drawing units, even for objects in model space. In this mode, viewports can have varying magnifications, yet display linetypes identically. For a specific linetype, the dash lengths of a line in a viewport are the same as the dash lengths of a line in paper space. You can still control the dash lengths with LTSCALE When you change PSLTSCALE or use a command such as ZOOM with PSLTSCALE set to 1, objects in viewports are not automatically regenerated with the new linetype scale. Use the REGEN or REGENALL command to update the linetype scales in each viewport.
nancysb
I've tried all the suggestions above, and have Regenerated my brains out, to no avail. You are all so patient with me, but I don't know what the next step(s) should be, but am open to any/all suggestions.
MikeScott
what kind of lines are they? Maybe that'll make a difference. Or post your file for another 2010 user to experiment with.
nancysb
The problem is with any dashed lines, e.g., hidden, dashed, center. The version I'm using is AutoCAD 2007.
rkent
The problem is with any dashed lines, e.g., hidden, dashed, center. The version I'm using is AutoCAD 2007. Savethe file to another name, erase most of the information, leaving the offending linetypes, then post on here, it is much easier to figure out with the actual file. nancysb
Well, I've saved the file, but (I'm embarrassed to say), I don't know how to post the AutoCAD file...
Cad64
See here: http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8863 Bear in mind, the maximum dwg file size that can be uploaded is 250kb.
rkent
That link provided above covers most of what you need, I don't think it tells you how to get to that first screen. When you respond to a post pick the "quote" button and then scroll down to see the manage attachments. If you pick the "Quick" button then you will have to pick the "Go Advanced" button to see the same options.
