gsksun4 Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Did a search and couldn't find classic layer manager. Is there such a thing? I know there's a classic xref manager you can bring up. Using 2009LT Glenn USA Quote
Crazy J Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 -la will get you to the command line version of layer manager. Not sure if that is what you are after or if it will help you. Quote
lpseifert Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Try Classiclayer at the command line The system variable is LAYERDLGMODE (not sure about LT though) Quote
gsksun4 Posted March 3, 2010 Author Posted March 3, 2010 Try Classiclayer at the command line The system variable is LAYERDLGMODE (not sure about LT though) Neither work in LT, but thank you lpseifert. I thought since I can do classicxref and get the old xref manager, that classiclayer would bring up the old layer manager. C.J. Thanks, but that's not what I'm after. I like the old layer manager. Just not used to using a different manager to load new linetypes. Thanks again guys. Glenn Quote
Tommy78 Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 In 2009 full it's just CLASSICLAYER, i use it all the time because the new layermanager slows down acad a bit imho. Quote

Ya know what's funny about all this? I just typed in "CLASSICLAYER" in 2009LT, and the new layer manager came up. Oh well. Thanks guys. Glenn Quote
Cad64 Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Are you sure it's the new layer manager that's opening? They look almost identical except that ones a palette and the other one is a dialog. Look closely. CLASSICLAYER should be opening the dialog version of the layer manager. You can open them both on screen at the same time to see the difference. Quote

Yes, they are both the new layer manager. I open both, and in fact, I can't show them both open at the same time. The one I open with the toolbar, hides when the one I open with the command line pops open. The old classic one says Layer & Linetype Properties at the top and I have it open in R14. The new one says Layer Properties Manager, and it's on the right side of the manager. Quote
Cad64 Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Well, CLASSICLAYER is not going to open the old R14 layer manager, it's just going to open the new manager in dialog mode rather than palette mode. It's still the same basic manager with the same functionality. Here I have both managers open at the same time. There's not much difference between them. Quote

I only wanted the old layer manager that would allow me to load new linetypes. I've found that typing in LT at the command line brings up the lineweights manager. I'm good to go. Glenn Quote

Anyway, it looks like you're back in business. Quote

I know, I mentioned the linetypes in the 4th post. It's ironic that lpseifert wrote this: Try Classiclayer at the command line The system variable is LAYERDLGMODE (not sure about LT though) When I first saw the LT in his post, I thought he meant that as a command and didn't realize he meant LT as in 2009lite. Heh, I typed LT at the command line and whatta ya know, it opened the linetype manager. Mysterious ways. Thanks again all. Glenn Quote
Cad64 Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but all you have to do is open the layer manager, click on a linetype, in the "Linetype" column, and it will open the linetype manager. Quote

Well, I'll be. That'll work too. Already in my notes. Thanks again. Glenn Quote
