dbakeg00 Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Good Afternoon All Anyone know of a good LISP that will draw pressure vessel heads in 2d, maybe even with wall thickness. Thanks in advance. db Quote
Kerry Brown Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Dished heads ; Hemispherical, Semi-Ellipsoidal, Torispherical etc dimensions differ from manufacturer to manufacturer, as well as vary for material type and thickness. I have thought a few times about writing code to draw them, but the geometry is pretty simple and can be done quickly by hand. Having said that, I'm sure that 'someone' here could code it ; providing you can supply the rules. Quote
ReMark Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 I believe this question has come up in the past. You might try the Search feature above. Quote

Thanks in advance. db dbakeg00, Getting the required information is the hardest part. Once you get the information, Then it needs to be sorted out. Alot of manufacturers do not release all of this information. I have put together some of this info if it will help anyone who cares to take this on. The dimensional data from the images can be explained in the Abbreviation.txt. Images will be posted on the next post because of 12 file upload max. 80-10.zipFetching info... ASME.zipFetching info... The Buzzard Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 If you work for a very serious ASME shop you will find that the software from Codeware is a real benifit for design as well as CAD. When the designing is complete, You can generate CAD drawings from them which includes welding details and much more. Check out this link: http://www.codeware.com/ Here is the CAD add-on module: http://www.codeware.com/compress/drafter.html They also have their own user group forum: http://www.eng-tips.com/threadminder.cfm?pid=1259 Quote

dbakeg00 Posted March 2, 2010 Author Posted March 2, 2010 Also, I found a LISP that will roughly draw pressure vessels, I am going to post it in the AutoLISP forum for people to help me edit (right now it draws in imperial units) Quote
