Ste1978 Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Hi guys, I'm currently on someone else's laptop (in a hotel room) and I need an A1 Cad template (set up to scale etc.), is there any chance anyone can email one across? I don't have a printer here so I can't experiment to set one up! I just need to create a quick drawing border. email is ukcads@googlemail.com Quote

Crazy J Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 You can find a full set of metric templates here-http://www.autocadeverything.com/help/showthread.php?t=4380 How about a set of English templates? Are they available anywhere that you know of? Quote
nukecad Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 How about a set of English templates? Are they available anywhere that you know of? I am in England - we use metric here. Do you mean American templates? USA is about the only place that has not gone metric yet:lol: Quote
Crazy J Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 yes, American... Standard... old-fashioned. I was in automotive and our equipment was all done in inches but our products were all done in mm. This equals a lot of fun when trying to do process checks on critical dimensions during assembly. Now, I am doing some work for an aerospace/military company and we are designing our parts in inches again. The products have a lot of electrical components and such, and all the off-the-shelf parts come in standard sizes given in inches, so I guess that drives it. Quote
Tankman Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 yes, American... Standard... old-fashioned. Try this, imperial. Titleblock-Generic.dwg Quote
Crazy J Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Hey, we live in America and speak English... so I'm confused But thanks for sending. I haven't put any of my solid models into drawing form yet, and I am sure I will have a lot more questions than answers when I do get started on that. I saw this thread and thought it was a good place to get started. Quote
nukecad Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Hey, we live in America and speak English... so I'm confused Not quite; you speak American English not standard English. Some words, spellings and pronuciations are different. eg. Car Park - Parking lot. Car - Automobile. Shopping centre - Mall. Railway - Railroad. colour - color. centre - center. (Those last two are a pain when coding programmes). There are thousands more but I'm sure you get the idea. And sorry I don't have any Imperial sized templates, I have no need for them, but Im sure you could stretch the metric ones to the required sizes and redefine the dimension styles etc. it will just take some time to do Quote
Tommy78 Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 I created some dynamic layout frames, adapt to your own taste! (insert as block) (metric) SPECS_TITKDR_DYN.dwg SPECS_TITKDR_a3-4.dwg Quote
Crazy J Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Tommy78, Would it be possible to save down to 2002 version? I'm just about a decade behind. Thanks! Quote
dbroada Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Tommy78, Would it be possible to save down to 2002 version? I'm just about a decade behind. Thanks! I'm not Tommy but if they do have dynamic properties then the answer is no. Not actually true, it is possible but saving down to 2002 will break all the important dynamic properties. They will still be usable but no improvement over a normal drawing file. Quote
