dbroada Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 I am sure this is just a variable that I can't spot but we have one drawing where the dim text doesn't re-center when you stretch it. On all the other drawings that I checked the text always centres automatically. Does anybody know why this paticular drawing wants to be different? Quote
ReMark Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 The dimtext must be associative. It's a checkoff box in DimStyles I believe. Quote
dbroada Posted February 10, 2010 Author Posted February 10, 2010 I thought that I'd checked that. I'll have another look and report back. Quote
dbroada Posted February 10, 2010 Author Posted February 10, 2010 dimensions are associative in options (can't find another in dimstyle) New dimensions behave themseves. Old dimensions update but don't center. Screen dump attached. Quote
ReMark Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Maybe I had it confused with annotative. Sorry. Can't understand why "updating" dimensions wouldn't correct the problem. Odd. Note to self: Tools > Options > User Preferences > Make new dimensions associative. Hmmm....I guess that any "old" dimensions will have to be erased and redrawn (so they are "new") or you'll have to edit them using Properties? Quote

dbroada Posted February 10, 2010 Author Posted February 10, 2010 To re-centre mislaced dimension text use- 'dimedit' Home yeah! that works still confused as to why it doesn't do it automatically - just one of those things I guess Quote
ReMark Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 To re-centre mislaced dimension text use- 'dimedit' Home Dang. I'm gonna have to write that down on the palm of my hand (Sarah Palin style) for future reference. Thanks nuke! Quote
