Johno71 Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 hello, I am new to the forum and autocad in general. I used to run autocad 2005 on my windows xp machine and it worked just fine. I got a new computer with windows vista 64 bit. I have installed the software and it comes up with some errors when installing, but the software works as long as i right click the icon for autocad and use the "run as administrator". The problem i am having is the mouse wheel no longer controls anything. On my old computer it would scroll up and down and if i pressed control key it would zoom in and out. How do i set up this feature in autocad? my mouse is a wireless rocketfish laser and it works just fine on the old computer. any help would be appreciated. John Quote
Tankman Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 "If you try to install AutoCAD (or LT, AutoCAD Architecture, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) on Windows 7 64-bit, Vista 64 or Windows XP x64, you may get a message saying that your 32-bit AutoCAD is not compatible with this 64-bit operating system. Just install the right version of AutoCAD. Make sure you are installing the 64bit version of AutoCAD included on your official installation media (some versions have a separate setup.exe in the x64 folder on the DVD). Most AutoCAD-based CAD products (since 2008) are distributed in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. These 64-bit versions are officially supported in XP x64, Vista 64 (since 2008) and Windows 7 (since 2010)." Quote
ReMark Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 And your mouse works in all other programs correctly (the wheel action scrolls)? Quote
ReMark Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 And you checked the mouse-appropriate system variables in AutoCAD? Quote
Johno71 Posted January 18, 2010 Author Posted January 18, 2010 no, I dont know how to do that. How is this done? Quote
ReMark Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 MBUTTONPAN Controls the behavior of the third button or wheel on the pointing device. 0 - Supports the action defined in the menu (.mnu) file 1 - Supports panning when you hold and drag the button or wheel Quote
