tzframpton Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Got an email from a friend and thought I would post up to help him. Question is as follows: I’m having issues with my program. I have to click on any of the commands at least twice and I’m really getting frustrated. I set up his AutoCAD and everything at his office, but all I never changed any settings or anything. I just networked everything so they could all use their custom Tool Palettes on all computers. Any ideas? Quote

Tell him first try to switch it out. I had this issue a while back and I went crazy trying to figure it out. -CadiCad Quote

nukecad Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 I seem to recall that NERO can cause this kind of mouse click problem by changing registry values on it own. (But it is more usual for it to cause files to open twice when double-clicked in windows, so that when you open a file you always get a message that the file is already open). Does he have Nero installed? Quote
flyingjunkie Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Another thing to look into is, if he has dual monitors set up like I do, if he clicks outside of AutoCAD, then tries to go straight back in, you have to click in the AC window to make it primary before you can click any of the commands. Just spitballing to give as many possibilities as possible. Quote
tzframpton Posted January 14, 2010 Author Posted January 14, 2010 It was his batteries in the mouse. Everything works perfect, thanks for the tip!! Quote
flyingjunkie Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 I wouldn't have even thought of that. My wireless mouse at home brings up an icon to tell me when my batteries are low, so the thought doesn't even cross my mind until then. Glad to hear he got it fixed. Quote

I would assume that you get that notification if you have the mouse driver and software it came with loaded. My friend probably just plugged it in and let the default Windows driver take over.... But yeah I would have never thought of that either. I can't STAND the lag of a wireless mouse.... Quote
flyingjunkie Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Only when I'm at home do I use one. Here at work, I prefer a high DPI corded mouse. Quote
Galingula Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 In our office it comes from bad batteries, or cell phones. I think the Nextel (?) phones mess with the wireless peripherals sometimes Quote

flyingjunkie Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 I've never heard of that before. Sounds like a pretty good possibility. Especially with how powerful the Freqs have to be on those phones to do the direct connect. Quote
munir Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 The solution is to tick "noun/verb selection" on the Selection tab. Quote
