Text Edit won't work??

For some reason I cant edit text by double clicking. I have gone into options> user preferences> and checked double click editing. It still wont work. Any ideas? I am using a version of ACAD 07 that is integrated with CG Survey.

First be sure Pickfirst=1

Also be sure the double-click action for text is setup like this (the command for Mtext should be Mtedit)
