Object selection and layer property toolbar problems. PLEASE HELP!

Hello everyone, I am brand new to this site and had a question that I need answered. It is driving me crazy and this is probably such an easy fix.

 

The main problem im having is when I select an object, the layers toolbar doesn't seem to be responding. Usually when i click on object the layers toolbar will change to show what the layer is for that object. For some odd reason, one day it just stopped working. I dont kow if I changed a setting somewhere or not, all I know is it doesn't change to reflect what layer that object is using. Everything else on the layers toolbar seems to be working just fine.

 

Is this a setting that might have been changed by accident? Can anyone help me with this? Thanks so much!!

You might have used any lisp that changes it, and don't have an error trapper

Thanks for the solution! Just encountered this problem yesterday before leaving for the day and now it's solved.
