muck Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Can a AMD Athlon 64 3000+ or 64 3200+ run AutoCAD 2010 using windows XP? Thank You, Quote
mrbucket Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 More importantly is memory and video card. What is that? Quote
CadDan Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 The processor isn't too important with AutoCAD, although it helps. I don't know if this will help you out, but I am running AutoCAD 2010, Revit Architecture 2010, and Inventor Pro 2010, along with some other Autodesk programs. I use them all on my laptop which is a 64 bit operating system. I don't know how well 2010 works on xp as I've never used it on xp (I've only used 2007/2008 on xp). Like Mrbucket said, it would be better if you had as much RAM as possible and a dedicated video card such as ATI. Quote
muck Posted December 12, 2009 Author Posted December 12, 2009 I thought AutoCAD 2010 would not allow you install if you did not have the minium processor requirements? AutoDesk webpage say Minmium of a Dual Core for the Athon Series of processors. Is that true. Will AutoCAD 2010 install withAMD Athlon 64 3000+ or 64 3200+ machine and windows xp. Quote

You are correct...in my experience, it will not install unless these are met Min. sys: Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional or Home edition (SP2 or later) Intel® Pentium® 4 or AMD Athlon® dual-core processor, 1.6 GHz or higher with SSE2 technology 2 GB RAM 1 GB free disk space for installation 1,024 x 768 VGA display with true color Microsoft® Internet Explorer® 7.0 or later Install from download, DVD, or CD Quote
