rookie37 Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Where can I find free math fonts for autocad? Quote
PS_Port Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 In the Mtext editor select '@' SYMBOL, then OTHER, then change the font to UniversalMath 1BT, copy and paste your required symbol back into the editor. What maths symbols are you after ? Quote
rookie37 Posted November 27, 2009 Author Posted November 27, 2009 http://pass.maths.org.uk/issue11/features/sundials/index.html I'm drawing the more complicated math equations on this page. This collage of formulas will become a watermark for my paper on sundials Quote
rookie37 Posted November 28, 2009 Author Posted November 28, 2009 In the Mtext editor select '@' SYMBOL, then OTHER, then change the font to UniversalMath 1BT,copy and paste your required symbol back into the editor. What maths symbols are you after ? Thank you very much! I'm almost there. I can now write what I want combining several mtext for example 1. x y 2. 2 2 (small font to make x squared) 3. m = plus or minus symbol A I'm still playing with fonts. Is there a script font that is bold? I want to see what a, b, c, x, and y look like in bold script Quote
PS_Port Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 In my limited experience, Autocad is not the best at representing math formula, I write my formula in word, using insert object, Microsoft equation. But in Acad, take a look at stacking for the super/subscript, you'll notice that the +/- is still not pretty. Maybe someone else might have a different approach ? mathsymbols.dwg Quote
PS_Port Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 thanks Lee, I was waiting for you chip in.. Quote
Lee Mac Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 No probs You can get just about all the symbols that you can get in MS Word (not the MS Equation ones) into MText, just by right-clicking and inserting symbol Just in case you weren't aware Lee Quote
Tankman Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Lee Mac, the post was a Fake LaJake just to lure you back to the forum! Just kidding of course! How's 'bout the ALT key combinations? There are too many to list. ± (ALT-0177) for example? Seems easy enough for other than a mathematician! Quote
BIGAL Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 If you use any TTF true type fonts then you can get at any character in the set not just 1-0 A-Z. You do though need to know its key code as Tankman has suggested. If you go to MTEXT @ open up menu then OTHER you can see all the fonts and the characters available. It easier to just hold the Alt key down and then type the number in on the number pad if you only use a few. Check 0178 & 0179. Quote
Tankman Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 I don't use that many symbols, don't need all the math. I do keep a little Post 'Em Note™ (ALT+0153) at my work station. I use a lot of lined steel pipe, DuPont told me to use Teflon® (ALT+0174) when I advertise their product. There are numerous ALT-KEY combinations, I only use what I need. Even when it's 90° F in the office. ALT+248 BIGAL you win something today? Your post count is triple 7's! Congrats! I just got a left over pumpkin pie at the supermarket. A 12" Ø (ALT+0216) pie! Note: Tried a few times typing ALT-248 and it would change the eight into a smilie face if I used parentheses. (ALT+248) - Didn't do it that time. Let me try usin' bold red. (ALT+248) perhaps not this time either? Oops, there they are! The last ) did the trick. Is there a code involved? Quote
rookie37 Posted December 2, 2009 Author Posted December 2, 2009 I worked it out sort of. I used mtext and combined 3 or 4 of them along with polylines. It's mostly what I want but Italic fonts don't look so good. Is there a bold italic? Quote
rookie37 Posted December 2, 2009 Author Posted December 2, 2009 attachment didn't come through. perhaps it will this time Quote
rookie37 Posted December 2, 2009 Author Posted December 2, 2009 Maybe this time math sample.dwg Quote
