dray Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 I'm doing a sectional view of a part for my first year CAD class. I've drawn the top and section view, but I'm having trouble drawing the SECTION LINE for the top view. -section line that includes the arrow heads. I temporarily replaced it with a hidden line for the time being. Thanks in advance Quote
ReMark Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 You could use a continuous polyline and a self-made arrowhead. Quote

tzframpton Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Just as long as it represents the same visual resemblance as any other section line symbol. Here's an example I found on Google.... That looks about right. I wouldn't worry about creating the PHANTOM linetype tho, just make it CONTINUOUS: Quote
ReMark Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Doesn't AutoCAD 2010 have something similar to the first one (on the left) Styk depicts above? Quote
JBullseye74 Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Doesn't AutoCAD 2010 have something similar to the first one (on the left) Styk depicts above? Yup - open the palette CRTL+3 under the annotation tab loads of section call outs. Quote
tzframpton Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Ah this is true. I always forget about the stock catalog blocks in the Tool Palettes and Design Center. Quote
dray Posted November 26, 2009 Author Posted November 26, 2009 thanks for the feedback! I used the multi-leader cmd, to get the arrow for my section line. But I'll play around with the palette, for future use. thanks again! Quote

I make my own from poly lines using width start and end thickness. It's fast and easy. KC Quote
