Glad to be able to help, I find it very odd that it will NOT rotate. I just tried rotating a viewport with the Paste Special table in it and it changes to a frame (for other than x90) or a deformed 0 degree table for x90 rotation.

right click and go down to locking then select unlock, if you window the whole table you can stretch it either bigger or smaller and it will stretch all cells evenly this works both for x and y directions

OK, i did the right click and it grips the cell, and I get tabeledit at the command line. I hit return and it tells me cannot edit locked cell. I right click and don't get a flyout with options to unlock the cell. Might this be a LT problem? I'm using 2009LT.

I'm still plugging away here. I haven't lost you and I know you're trying for me. I always think why can't they make this more simple. I mean, we can walk in space, but can't rotate a paste secial.

Have you selected the cell so you have the little yellow box around it?

Yes, yellow box and grips are there. When I right click in the cell I can see a lock symbol and the two small chain links. At the command prompt it says "cannot edit a data locked cell".

I even unlocked the cells in the original excel file and reinserted the file. Still locked.

Im currently looking into this and found a problem also.

I inputted a new table via the shortcut button, then selected the "from data file" option, pasted in my spreadsheet and all is fine. scale, editable everything was fine......Then i filled in my spreadsheet with revisions and names etc, clicked on "Data Links> Upload User Changes to Source File". and the source file doesnt update!. The cad table will update from the sourcefile but not vice versa!.. if anyone can help me with this would be fantastic. Yip, ive opened closed saved etc but all to no avail.

The answer was provided in one of the two other on-going threads regarding AutoCAD and Excel that you seem to be bouncing between. Do the words "Paste Special" ring a bell? Maybe you did not read through this entire thread either. In an earlier post there was this set of instructions:

"Switch to AutoCAD and click on Edit - Paste Special. This should bring up a Paste Special dialog box select the Paste Link radio button and then you should see Microsoft Office Excel Worksheet as an option - select that and click ok."

Now you have three different methods for dealing with AutoCAD and Excel. My advice would be to try all three methods and see which one works best for you. The only other method available is a DataLink but I believe that was not an option with AutoCAD 2007. It made its first appearance with AutoCAD 2008 if I am not mistaken.
