optiplex760 Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 Hi folks, Having an interesting problem. I have installed previous versions of Autocad (05,08.) for users before and it loads and works perfectly. Now i'm installing Autocad2010 (fully licensed). After it loads I set up the desired template/industry. After this I open Autocad2010 but there's nothing to see or do. Just a gray screen. No toolbars/ribbons/file-edit-view-etc. Nothing. There's a drop down option at the top left in (a red "A") but you can't click on it. If i continue to click around it eventually will just give me a "program not responding". The PC meets all of the normal specs and i've tried this on several PC's. Is there something im not doing? Thank you very much. Quote
Le Teace Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 It sounds right but the big red A should work. Sounds like a reinstall is needed Quote
optiplex760 Posted November 10, 2009 Author Posted November 10, 2009 It sounds right but the big red A should work.Sounds like a reinstall is needed Thanks for the response. I've tried reinstalling to no avail. We get the same situation on every computer so far with AutoCad2010. It definitely just doesn't open like AutoCad 2008. It's just a blank screen that makes a "ding" sound whenever you try to click around in. Quote
ReMark Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Have you verified that your computer meets the minimum system requirements as set forth by AutoDesk for 2010? Quote
optiplex760 Posted November 10, 2009 Author Posted November 10, 2009 Have you verified that your computer meets the minimum system requirements as set forth by AutoDesk for 2010? Hi, Yes we definitely meet all requirements. Even trying to open a drawing in AC2010 locks it up so im pretty confused. Is everyone's AC2010 blank like this the first time they use it? And again I can't even click on the Red "A" in the top left corner. Also wanted to add that I installed update1 and it didn't make a difference. Quote
ReMark Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Fortunately when I loaded 2010 I got just what I expected...everything showing up even that crazy Ribbon. Quote
Le Teace Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Does it look like the above ? Can you do a print screen & post it ? Mine starts up with the Ribbon, command line etc. It only looks like the above if I close all drawings but my Red A & the quick access toolbar still work. In ACAD can you type i.e. CTRL+O Does that do anything How about CTRL+0 (in case you have Cleanscreen on). You say it is the same on other computers you install it on ! If so this eliminates settings like the above. Are all the PCs you have tried on one network. Have you tried turning off Antivirus etc when installing it. All my 2010 installs have gone fine. Do you have a different disc to try. Could it be dodgy. Could you install it on a PC elsewhere, i.e. at home ? If so something on your network is causing the problem. Quote
