Pipe part size problem

I have a pipe network problem.

I have been using Pipe Networks for a little bit, I understand it fairly well... But I started a project in Civil 3D (vault) and recently upgraded to 2010 Civil 3D.

Currently I have 2 pipe networks (one existing sanitary pipe and one existing storm pipe) that I created in C3D2009.

And I began creating a new pipe network for "Future Storm Pipe" in C3D2010.... that's when the problem started.

I began placing structures and pipes (AutoCAD pipes not Custom-Made in part builder), when I realized that when I lay (draw) a 24" concrete pipe it was drawing it in as a 60" concrete pipe...

and the 18" concrete pipe was drawn in as a 42" concrete pipe

and the 15" concrete pipe was drawn in as a 48" concrete pipe... none of the other pipes have that problem.

Also, when I swap the part, the 24" concrete pipe I just layed is listed as a 60" pipe, I can not select the 24" pipe thinking it will "swap" to the correct pipe.

When I lay in 27" concrete pipe, it is drawn in as 27" concrete pipe. (that rules out the project scale or drawing scale as far as I'm concerned).

24", 18" & 15" PVC pipe parts are to scale.

Somewhere the part is incorrect or whatever is pointing to that pipe part is incorrect... I can't have the 2010 software point it to the 2009 pipe parts list because that has been deleted from our computers before install.

Anybody else having this problem?

Anybody know how I can cure this?

Or do I need to lay what pipe works and go with a re-design? (haha)

"...and recently upgraded to 2010 Civil 3D."

My first question would be is your product up-to-date? You are aware there is an Update 2.1 right (Apr-27-2009)?

I could ask for assistance in Part Builder.... but NO-ONE knows part builder and there aren't any 2010 part builder manuals either.

It's learn as you go... trial and error.

:?Just to keep everyone updated... I have not found an answer to my problem, it does look like a software problem.

I have found a "work around" solution...

I can have the C3D 2010 software look at a different parts list (using the Set Pipe Network Catalog command) and have it point to a different parts catalog (in the 2009 version still loaded on my machine).

You would think that when you purchase a 2010 upgrade, some things would work better, not worse.

Just had the same problem and figured it out. Go to the part builder and select the type of pipe you are having trouble with. Then select modify part sizes. Go to Size Parameters, right click and select Edit Configuration. Under Values delete the part size you are trying to swap to, select OK. Save the part family and go back to your drawing. Go back to editing your network. Select the parts list and delete the part here too.

Now purge, audit and purge registered apps.

Now go back into the part builder and add the part size where you deleted it from. Save the parts list again and go back to your drawing. Edit the parts list in your drawing and add the offending part. Now try to swap the part.

Hope it works for you.

PS, I found that this seems to happen in C3D 2009 drawings brought into C3D 2010. If I am right then Autodesk has some answering to do as this kind of thing should never happen when moving 'forward'.
