Hi all.

I read a few of the old threads in search of an answer for my problem. The thing is: I have a drawings with lots and lots of xrefs and need to make one small change to an xref. When I go: xopen, that xref is in yet another xref, I then go xopen again and so on and so on.

Now I found on the forum that I can bind and explode the xref. My question is that should I do this in order to change that one little thing, will it also change the original xref?

Thank you all for all the help on this site!

Well, let us say you have one XREF installed into a parent drawing (sideview). If that particular XREF has (maybe) six more XREF drawings linked in to it (drawings 1,2,3, etc.) or chained down (like 1a, 2b, 3c, etc.), then everything ought to be correct as of the instant you had exploded the bound XREF (sideview). If you go an make more chages to an XREF'd drawing way down the ladder, (like to 1,2b, or 3c) the changes will not show up then.

For at time of exploding the drawing (sideview) it looked like.....

What you do afterwards is of no concern then.

You must also explode all of the bound XREF's drawings in the parent drawing file (sideview), and all the linked ones too (such as 1,1a, 2, 2b, 3, 3c.) . Keeps you hopping.
