TonyD Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 I'm having one heck of a time getting a student copy of auto CAD. I have been to their site (autodesk) and went through their maze of pages and e-mails. I now have the Product key # and a Serial number. And I have the program installed. Now through e-mail they want a, well I let you read the quote below. Thank you for your request. In order to generate an activation (authorization) code we will need the 16-to-32-digit request code that is displayed on your monitor after you begin the activation (authorization) routine. I printed out every e-mail and every page and still have yet to see this number. I wish I could go else were. I know they need to be safe with their product, but at what expense? thanks in advance. Cad64 Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 As the message states, they want the request code that is "displayed on your monitor" after you begin activation. The code is not in your email, it is generated by the program when you go through the activation process. When you open Autocad, do you get a message stating that you need to register the product? If so, you should be able to find the request code there. Quote

As stated above it's not on any of the pages I was linked to, as I printed all of them. I did this because others have had a hard time with the process as well. I'll try what you said and see how that works. Thanks Quote
TonyD Posted September 20, 2009 Author Posted September 20, 2009 It all makes sense now. Thanks for your help again. From Autodesk: Thank you for contacting Autodesk. As you may know, Autodesk is currently upgrading our customer information systems. Because this is a significant upgrade, our automated systems will be temporarily unavailable until Sunday, September 20th at 12:00 PM EDT. Included below is a temporary activation code valid for forty-five days for your Autodesk product. If you do not want a temporary code, please do not use this code and wait until the systems are back online to submit your activation request to receive a permanent code. Quote
