cadmando2
My boss purchases an OCE TDS 400 plotter a few months ago. WE are using the OCE windows Driver to print. I created the PC3 file so it would keep the printing setting, but the “DRAWING ORIENTATION” in AutoCAD 2004 shows landscape but when I click on Properties it show “PORTRAIL”. I have saved the setting and each time I have to go and change it to landscape under properties. It is not keeping the setting. not even the CTB file How can I keep the setting so I do not have to change it every time!

cadmando2
Look at the plotter menu and how it is setup, Check the plotter documents. In autocad, Properties, Custom properties and look at the settings. See whitch roll it is ploting to. You should be able to select the roll you want to plot to. Check with your IT person if you have one or who setup the plotter for you. every place I worked at the plotter equipment was setup, but the few I did work at was set up direct. I never have to choose which roll to pick from tell now. Sorry I couldn't help you more. Check the plotter document and setting.

Thanks CadManDo2, Wouldn't it nice if they created thnings a little more simple...??? Here is what I have don't so far and what I have gotten in return: Setup: Using the biggest border size 36"x48" I was able to easily plot (maybe) because the first roll has 36" paper... I started getting problems when I went to half size or 18" x 24". The PC3 given to us just doesn't work right while it goes to the currect roll it continues to cut off (about 1/4") info along one side. By using an old pc3 from the other plotter I was able to get the display correct but in goes to the first roll all the time. I have checked my existing PC3 to insure that the size I ask for goes to the correct roll (in my case, roll 2 or 24") but with no luck. I get the 18"x24" drawing centered on the 36" wide paper or roll 1... I created this user size because it wasn't included on the Oce PC3 as well. Again, for the 18" x 24" size paper: The Oce supply PC3 = correct roll but display is cut off. The Old existing PC3 = Correct display but wrong roll. I will try once again this morning with a clear mind and hope I catch whatever I missed the first time around: I will check all the setting and try again using the supplied Oce pc3 and see if I can get the display to stop trimming off my drawing. ***** If anyone sees or understand my mistake please post my answer. I sure I'm missing something because it shouldn't this hard to plot half size...

CadDog
Wow... What a good night sleep and a fresh mind does... I did NOT do the Shot Gun thing this morning... I had a little more time and read everything popup and dialog slowly... Adjusted the Rolls and placed 24" in roll 3. Next fixed the Oce pc3 to insure it went to roll 3 with NO trim edge (why they started adding that a few years ago is another thread) Now everything is flowing GREAT...!!! I understand my mistakes and fixed them... Thanks for your input CadManDo2, It really help me to pay attension to the little things... Oce all the Way...!!!
