The Buzzard Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 I started at the top and went thru the whole menu list, and it will start doing it. I just reopened Autocad and is started doing it in the begining. Thats strange, Because I have gotton thru more than half the menu at this point without a glitch. Seems to run very fast as well. I would say you did a bang up job on it. Not sure where the problem lies since I have yet to come accross the problem. I will need to spend some time putting it thru its paces until something developes. I will get back to you later if I find anything or not. Quote

I do not think the location is a factor if you have the directory in the acad search path. Try to reboot your system and start acad again and see what happens. Quote
The Buzzard Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Ok here we go again. I did not have the PSTYLEPOLICY set to 1 which is why I did not see any errors. In any case I cannot test your menu completely without your plotstyle on my system. If you can send that file, I may be able to give you a better answer. If there is any type of problem with this menu I would say at this point it could be in the pstyle section some place. I am not sure without having the plotstyle to confirm this. Quote
hapnin Posted September 29, 2009 Author Posted September 29, 2009 I ended up moving the file from the desktop and putting it in the following folder "C:\Users\rcarino\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\ACD-A 2009\enu\Support". But i still get strange things happening. For instance, it will now open the help file for some unknown reason. I'm going to reboot my computer and start autocad again and see what happens. Quote

The Buzzard Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Here is our plotstyle for your review. See below how the Pstyle sub command works within -layer. The last section below kind of explains where the problem is. Pstyle Sets the plot style assigned to a layer. This option is not available if you are using color-dependent plot styles in the current drawing (the PSTYLEPOLICY system variable is set to 1). See Use Plot Styles to Control Plotted Objects in the User's Guide. Enter plot style or [?] : Enter a name, enter ? to list existing plot styles, or press ENTER If you select a plot style other than NORMAL, the following prompt is displayed: Enter name list of layer(s) for plot style current : Enter the names of the layers to use this plot style, or press ENTER to apply the style to the current layer only This works similar to the way the layer description works. You need to give the the name of the layer to assign the plot style to. Run -layer to see how PSTYLE works. That is where your answer is. Quote
The Buzzard Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 I have fixed the first line for you. You will need to fix the rest. Two things you need to do. 1. At the command prompt type PLOTSTYLE and set your Perez stb standard.stb to the current plotstyle. 2. Make the fix to your menu file as I have done on the first line. [A-AN-DIMS] ^C^C^P(command "_-layer" "_make" "A-AN-DIMS" "_color" "130" "" "_ltype" "continuous" "" "_lweight" "default" "" "_pstyle" ".25mm" "A-AN-DIMS" "" "_DESCRIPTION" "DIMENSIONS" "A-AN-DIMS" "" "") ^P I ran the menus first line and it worked great. You should be able to take this from here. Good Luck, The Buzzard Perez.zip Quote
Rich Clements Posted October 2, 2021 Posted October 2, 2021 Hi Buzzard, I realise I'm very late to the party on this one! I'm looking for the commands/file to create a similar layers drop down tree as per your image in this post. I'm happy to fiddle with macros and trial and error to get them working, but I haven't done anything more complex with LISP files yet. Do you think it would be possible for you to send me the 'a-layers' file that was previously available on this thread in the hope that I could adjust it to suit my companies needs? Very cheeky I know, but I can't find anything else online to provide guidance as of yet! Kind regards, Rich Quote
CADTutor Posted October 3, 2021 Posted October 3, 2021 @Rich Clements Please note that this thread is 12 years old and that The Buzzard hasn't visited the forum for 10 years. It's unlikely you'll get a response but I'm approving this post in the hope that someone else may be able to help you. Quote
