automatic offset lines?

Recommended Posts

i draw basic/ diagramatic/ thumbnail cad drawings of floor plans. (see attached)

can acad LT 2008 draw double lines or would i have to use offset to acheive this.

i heard acad architectural desktop will draw insulated cavity walls in one swoop & wondered if LT can to a stripped down equivalent.

While I know LT does not have a Multiline command doesn't it have one called DLine?

Just confirmed it myself. DLine has been a feature of AutoCAD LT since 2002. What version are you using?

Thanks. I don't know why AutoDesk insists on not including the Multiline command in LT and elects instead to provide Dline. If you are trying to encourage people to move up to full AutoCAD from LT wouldn't it make sense to keep as many of the commands the same?

One would think so, or, leave the command out of LT to entice end-users to upgrade. Although, was nice of AutoDesk to include DLINE in their light version.

Who knows?

the only problem is...

dline seems to turn off osnaps, it's a pain to have to F3 every dline to set osnap manually, is there a work around? not getting much responce for this question elswhere.

When you launch the DLINE routine you see the following:

Break/Caps/Dragline/Offset/Snap/Undo/Width/:

What's with that "snap" option?

Trivia: Did you know that at one time the DLine command was included in full AutoCAD. It was dropped in Release 13.
