chrisdarmanin Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 which is better? with soldraw you can do a section right? Quote
ReMark Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Solview cuts the section and Soldraw creates the 2D linework (including hidden lines). Flatshot does exactly as it names describes. Quote
chrisdarmanin Posted July 25, 2009 Author Posted July 25, 2009 are both accurate? or is one better than the other? Quote
ReMark Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 They are both as accurate as the 3D solid you created. Quote
chrisdarmanin Posted July 26, 2009 Author Posted July 26, 2009 thanks. what about flatten. i have the impression it not accurate Quote
Cad64 Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 Flatten is a destructive procedure. If you use it, you better make sure you use it on a copy of your drawing file, because it will flatten your model. Flatshot creates a 2D representation of your model without destroying it. Your model will remain intact, and a 2D drawing will be projected onto the XY plane. Flatten is also meant to be used in Top view only. If you try to use it while looking at your model in an isometric projection, it will flatten it to that view. Then if you switch to Top view, your flattened model will look very distorted. I would suggest sticking with Flatshot or Solview and Soldraw. Quote
