Count intersections between plines

If I draw an irregular shape is there an automated way to count the number of corners the shape has? If I draw a wall it is a series of parallel lines, is there a way to select an entire wall and out put the number of corners the wall has and not the number of corners each individual line has? Is it possible to fill it in with a hatch and then count the number of corners that hatch has?

That's going a little away from this thread, but yes, it is possible. Perhaps ask the question again as a new thread, you might also want to attach an example drawing showing how you draw the wall, the line type you use (polylines, lines, splines or whatever)
