araslan Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 I have a strange thing that recently started on a file that I've been working for a while. All of a sudden I can't select line/poly lines to modify, howe3ver I can with others on the same layer. I've noticed the lines I have problems with are generally in the same direction. Some times I can highlight but can't tag to the snap markers. I did command and did a select – all and changed the elevation to '0' and it actually worked for a while, but it reappeared again. When I hit regen those lines disappear and reappear again when I open the file again or when I play with the attribute display. I'm just confused, ANY IDEAS. Thanks Quote
rustysilo Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Maybe try running an audit and a purge on the dwg. If that doesn't work I'd give'r a restart to see if the problem remains. Quote
araslan Posted April 9, 2008 Author Posted April 9, 2008 I purge and audit all the time and have restarted and still the same. Quote
NBC Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 can you post a portion of the drawing you are having trouble with please Quote
araslan Posted April 9, 2008 Author Posted April 9, 2008 ok, as soon as i figure out how to post a file on the site. thanks Quote
araslan Posted April 9, 2008 Author Posted April 9, 2008 I'm having problems uploading the file for some reason! it fails everytime Quote
cadfly Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 araslan, I've had this happen recently also. Although i can't figure out what caused it, i can remedy it in the drawing. try this: 1. select "CTRL"+"A" to select all. 2. delete all of the entities 3. very important step, select "OOPS", do not leave this step out. Now you should be able to select the entities that were previously un-selectable. If anyone has a fix to this, please let me know. thanks Quote
Cad64 Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 I'm having problems uploading the file for some reason! it fails everytime See here: "How to add images to your posts" Make sure your Cad file is under 250kb. Quote
AVITWeb Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 It's worth a shot here, but I do not think it will actually work... Is your 0 (zero) layer frozen or turned off? Same goes for defpoints Quote

J3an Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 The same thing is happening with me, it is really weird! any solutions found? I open to edit a block in block editor, but then i can't select some of the lines. I tried auditing and purging the file but nothing worked. Finally i tried orbiting the block in block editor and for some reason i could select the lines again! Any idea why this is happening? Quote
ReMark Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Without having a copy of the block to play with it's impossible to say exactly what is happening and why. Quote
n0tepad Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 It's worth a shot here, but I do not think it will actually work... Is your 0 (zero) layer frozen or turned off? Same goes for defpoints thanks avitweb! Quote
qhabz Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 "reconcile" layers will solve the problem Quote
n0_name Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 i had the same problem with a few polylines ( i couldn't select them one by one with the mouse, but using quick select i managed to select them) . Audit, delete and then oops didn't work. My polylines were on defpoints, and a few (other) layers were turened off. I turned all the layers in my drawing on and then i could select them again. Don't know what the problem was, but it works now.... Quote
ReMark Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 The problem was twofold. 1) Your polylines were on the defpoints layer (not a good practice) and 2) layer "0" was probably frozen. Quote
Net_guy Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 Try to change the Model or Paper Space. Command Line: MSPACE (or PSPACE) See if it works Quote
aarzoo khan Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 i am having the same problem. But will u pls tell me where does this "oops" option come? Quote
