zaibatt
My system ( CPU 2.40 GHz & 512 MB of RAM ) hangs as I open more than 50 tabs in Mozilla Firefox. I want to open approx 500 tabs at a time in Firefox browser, should, I increase its memory or CPU or both or any other idea to improve the PC performance? Strix
there's probably an add on for it: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/browse/type:1/cat:
skipsophrenic
500???? Why on earth do you need that many tabs at once. Most i've ever needed was 10. (research purposes)
Skeeps
yeah, yeah Skips Righto! Research hey. I've heard it called somethings, but never 'research' I'm running IE8 It locks up with just one tab up, I reckon it's because it's a new version. Can you open this many normally in Firefox? If so, I'm installing it.

That may be because the peope at mozilla actually give the customers what they want, not what mozilla want to sell. Wonder what would happen if microsoft adopted that approach . . . . Lee Mac
yeah, yeah Skips Righto! Research hey. I've heard it called somethings, but never 'research' I'm running IE8 It locks up with just one tab up, I reckon it's because it's a new version. Can you open this many normally in Firefox? If so, I'm installing it. I soon moved away from IE as it was so slow when using tabs... Chrome is better also, but I couldn't get used to it, so I just stuck to Mozilla... I've got to admit, I use the tabs all the time... at the moment I have 5 open, especially when I'm on this site, I just use the scroll wheel button and click on the threads I want to view, then, when I'm done replying to a thread, I close that tab. But, yes, I have noticed that at times Mozilla will freeze (if only for about 5 seconds) when opening a few tabs quickly. I would love to know why you would need 500 though... uber-research
