kennedyhuynh Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Hello guys, I am new to the forum. I've been having this issue for the longest time, and I don't know how to fix it and i don't even know what the problem is. I am printing, printer/plotter = dwg to pdf.pc3 paper size = 24" x 36" plot scale = 1" = 10 units When I use these setting to print a file in 2009 Civil 3D the files will generate a file size of 3,916kb (4mb) When i use the same setting to print in 2008 Civil 3D the files will generate at a 404kb (.5mb). I prefer to have the smaller file size. what can be the issue that is creating this bizarre effect? Quote
Zorg Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 File size of your DWF / PDF can be dependant on viewports. Are all of them nessecary? Thats assuming you have a few Quote

Zorg Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 hmm.. prehaps theres just better file compression between 2008 and 2009. This is only superfical or are you suffering on a larger scale? Z Quote

Z yeah it makes my productivity go down due to the creation of the larger file sizes. Plus when emailing the larger file sizes is absurd. Quote
Zorg Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Thats kool i understand that complety, espically if i have 30 or 40 to issue! Well, you can try exporting to PDF if Civil 3D allows that. If not, i always make it into a DWF first then plot to my PDF device from DWF viewer. Give those ago and let us know how you get on. Z Quote
