I have a 3D Surface (existing topo in tight Grid presentation) , being viewed in Perspective

I want to drape the Mapping Data (2D) onto this so that when I render, it is visible

So far, I have not been able to get it to drape with just normal Perspective Viewing

I inserted the mapping .dwg into the drawing, and then selected the SURFACES>UTILITIES>MOVE BLOCKS TO SURFACE

This also did not work.

What is the simple method to VIEW the 2D draped on the 3D Surface ?

(I really have no need to "create feature lines" etc.... I just need to "see" the 2D Lines draped when I go to Perspective Mode)

This seems to be a problem with C3d we have another package and it has an option to just calculate point heights based on surface model. It would take a couple of clicks to convert your 2d map into a 3d map.

Would still be interested in some one who knows how to do this if possible.

Couple of extra things though you really need your 3d grid to be a fraction above the surface if metric 1 mm. Often objects disappear when they are exactly the same height had this problem with building walls and windows were disappearing, offset them 1mm work perfect. Also if your surface has lots of up & downs and you lay a long line on it parts will disapear you may need to break the lines into shorter segments so they sit on top.

As above create 500 feature lines don't think so.
