gtwatson Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 I have been using ACAD LT for a while and there are 4 ICONS to Group entities in one of the menus. I've been playing with ACAD 2004 a little and although there is a GROUP command which seems more powerful, there is no Icon to bring it up. It's been a while but I have added an Icon in ACAD LT to do some commands and I guess I'll have to do an Icon for Group in ACAD 2004. Is this correct? Quote
Tiger Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 I don't know if there is a icon for the GROUP command, but it might be on a toolbar that you haven't brought up. Right-click on a toolbar and you get a list of toolbars availible. The ones with tickmarks are the ones you have up, tick more to bring up more and see if you find the GROUP command. Quote
Tiger Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 I took a look in my help-file, from that I gather that there is no icon for GROUP, at least not in ACAD 2008. When you say that there is icons for Group in a menu, do you mean that you find the group-commands in a pulldown menu, as in Format or Tools or Draw at the top of your screen? Not that I can find Gorup on one of my menus though... But as far as I can see, yes, you need to create your own button for the Group command. Quote
Skeeps Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 I always used to select everything I want in the group and right click to the shortcut menu then group, I've not found I need an icon when I was using Acad lt 04. Do you have your right click shortcut menu enabled in acad 2004? Does it appear on that? Quote
gtwatson Posted May 27, 2009 Author Posted May 27, 2009 Yes, I checked the menus and don't see a group menu like in LT. I have attached a screen shot from LT of the 4 Icons. The top is the Group command, next is the Ungroup command, next is the Group Manager, and last is the toggle for group selection on/off. My right click is set to the old-time Enter or repeat the last command so when I select several entities I just get the last command I executed when I right click. I guess I'll just have to get used to ACAD not having an Icon for Group or make one myself. Thanks for the help. BTW, how do I add a sig line on this forum? I looked in the User CP but don't see a place to put a signature. Quote
Tiger Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Makeing a couple of buttons is not too difficult, or you could get used to typing G (for Group) on the keyboard, faster as well  When you reach your tenth post, you get the possibility to add your own signatur, as well as use the PM system - this is a limitation in place to reduce spam. gtwatson Posted May 27, 2009 Author Posted May 27, 2009 Thanks for the tip. I'll have to ask more questions to get to 10 posts. I have a funny sig (well, to me anyway) that I borrowed from a Think Geek web site that goes: There are 10 types of people in the world; those that understand binary and those that don't. Quote
