lifeis Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 That is Brilliant! It works perfectly!!! You are AWESOME! Thank you so much for taking the time to help me. I tried to post a reply earlier to say it worked but for whatever reason the post did not go through =S I think it mentioned a Moderator having to check the Post first? Wierd because all my other posts just went through automatically. But seriously man, thank you so much for your help. Im going to try and write a LISP/Script or something now which can plugin the values to the script you wrote for me, from like a text file, or spreadsheet or alike. I should be able to work that out myself though, and at least this time I know its possible because the Script I used a while ago 'SrxTEXT' could search for text in a drawing from an Excell Spreadsheet. Thanks again for all your help Fuccaro. I really appreciate it. -Craig Quote
fuccaro Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 That post you mentioned is now in place. Now you have more than 10 posts so probable that security limitation will not bother you any more. Thank you for your kind words, I wish you a great day! Quote
fuccaro Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 lifeis Any progress with that script, Craig? Quote
lifeis Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Hey Fuccaro, Thanks for taking the time to reply! Everyone is this forum is very helpfull, what a fantastic resource for Autodesk products this Forum is. I have been trying my best to work with the Script you kindly helped me with. It is already saving our CAD department hours each week. As of right now, everyone is typing in the values for attribute 1 and attribute two in by hand, reading of an excell spreadsheet. I opened a thread asking for help, but to be honest it seems beyond me. I have gotten great help and I have read/downloaded lots of scripts, although some of the code is very dense and hard for me to understand let alone alter to suit my needs. At first I figured that it would be simple to alter the script you provided, to instead of prompt the user for attribute values, read them from an Excell table or CSV file (whatever is easier). However I have found that most programs people suggest are very advanced and go far beyond my needs. They are also mostly stand-alone applications, which I wouldn't know how to implement in your Script. Thanks aloot for all your help. -Craig Quote
lifeis Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Here is a brief explanation of what I am trying to do: Read from this file (which can be saved as either a CSV file, or XLS etc) In your script, instead of prompt for attribute 1, read from Collum A. Then instead of prompt from attribute 2, read from Collum B. And so on till the end of the table. I thought it would be simple enough but it seems very complex. Thanks again! -Craig Quote
