EMS_0525 Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Does your company use standard ctb file? What are some examples of the 250 color settings? Do you use object lineweight and object color? I had our companys set to use black and a percentage of screening... Wondering what everyone else is doing. here is a screen shot of what i have it set to, another guy here is saying we should have it set like the second ctb file pic. Any opinions? The ctb file issue is kinda a big one here, my last company used red-magenta, those were the only colors with thickness, red being thickest, magenta being thinest. Now this place uses all 256 colors and has lineweights assigned to them, but there is only 20 different settings, so some colors are the same. Trying to get things straightened out. Quote
NBC Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 There are pro's and con's of both systems. The first ctb (it looks like) will primarily be used for monochrome (i.e. black & white) prints. The second ctb will take it's settings from those defined within Layer Properties. Personally, I prefer to use something similar to the second one, as it gives more of a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) look and feel. Quote
wannabe Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 I advise you to have some colours that are set to different thicknesses of black. I would advise against object thickness/colour for total control of layers. There is no one size fits all obviously; just thought I'd share what I see as ideal for some environments. Quote
