  1. We are working with the new AutoCAD 2014 and have been for some time now. We have just started running into this problem; When we try to open up certain existing drawings instead of opening the actual existing drawing it just opens up a blank "Drawing1". We have tried closing out and reopening cad altogether. Tried shutting down. Tried recovering the drawing. Nothing. The same thing happens. The weird thing is that we could have been in that drawing 2 hours ago while it worked just fine. It does not matter how we open up the drawing, it does this. If someone can chime in quickly I would greatly appreciate it. GOD BLESS!
  2. I have saved a .dwg file that I'm using on my AutoCAD 2011 as an earlier version of AutoCAD (2007) and sent it to a friend who has 2009 version. She is getting an error message saying that the drawing is invalid. We tried using the .bak file and recovering the file and even inserting it in an open dwg. none of which works. I even sent her a .dxf file but it still doesn't work. I thought maybe it's because everytime I save a file AutoCAD generates a .dwxf file along with the dwg. so I sent her that file too but she still can't open the file. Any idea what it might be ?!!

    missing content of a file

something strange happened , I had open two files (work file and file to watch from) and somehow after closing AutoCad , the content of the work file is replaced by the content of the other one.It is same with the .bak file . Is there any chance to recover my previous work , somehow to go back in the history of that file?
  4. I have drawn a drawing with AutoCAD and made a jpeg photo by print screen. Now I have lost the original AutoCAD file but have the jpeg file. Is it possible to recover the file through the jpeg print screen file?

    drawing recovery

Hey there, Got this minor problem, goes like this: I cut and pasted a drawing off the system folders at work, (ratehr than copying it) and then started working on it, and saved... I now need the original information, is there any way I can recover this? Will autocad allow me to revert to the original drawing? Thanks a lot
  6. I was working in AutoCAD 07 yesterday doing my hotel plans and it crashed so I opened it and recovered it and continued to work in the recovered file and even though I saved it under a new name it wont open, I cant recover, I cant open it in any other program (sketchup, covnert to PDF) It is saying drawing file is not valid, when I try insert it on a new CAD document as a dwg reference it says invalid and when I try insert it as a block it says it was created by an incompatible version of AutoCAD?! And even the previous versions I saved wont work (they were recovered too) I do have a file that works from 2 days ago but I've done about 30 hours of work since then I cant lose that work I need the plans by Monday!!! Does anyone know anything that can help me recover it!!!!! :ouch:
