A simplified version of my problem: I have been adding new pipe sizes to an existing parts list. As I add a new part, it is automatically inserted at the bottom of the list. Is there a way to reorganize the parts list by something meaningful like part name, style, or ideally inside diameter? It appears the order of the parts list dictates the order of the drop-down menu used for selecting pipe types and it would make life much easier if this list had some kind of organization. For example my pipe parts list reads: 42" storm pipe 36" sewer pipe 18" sewer pipe 36" storm pipe I would like it to read: 18" sewer pipe 36" sewer pipe 36" storm pipe 42" storm pipe

Generating a Plant List from Plant Block References with Attributes. Autocad 2004
sfneitzel posted a topic in AutoCAD General
I am trying to generate a plant list or plant legend in autocad 2004. I have block references that I have created that have block attributes such as qty, plant name and size. I know in other software drafting you can generate a plant list or parts list, but can't find the method in autocad either in help option or in my autocad book. I have done several years ago when I was helping a colleague work around autocad but can't remember what version he had and how I did it. Any Ideas?- 3 replies

Hello all, I am trying setup a default part list for my company in Inventor, where I am stuck at is I wish to lock the width of the columns so on all our drawings the part list is the same width, I have assigned each column its own width and when I bring it in to the drawing it's the correct size but I am able to drag the edges, and change its size, I want to lock it so if you try you cant. am I missing something obvious in the menus? Or is this a limitation with inventor. I am using the latest version of Inventor 2013 Cheers

Is it possible to create a drawing in wich you switch between 2 laguages. I would like to use the same drawing for our own workers here in the netherlands and a company in Poland. So I need one partslist in dutch and one in english. I don't want to make two separate drawings, because then I would have to update two drawings if changes are made.

I am having problems creating my pipe network in Civil 3d 2011. A previous employee created a pretty comprehensive list of pipes / structures and I thought I was doing the right thing by dragging and dropping from one of his drawings into my drawing. However I can see the list (in the prospector) in the new drawing but can't do anything with it. I can't edit it or add to it. I get the following error: Unable to edit network part. Required pipe network catalog(s) not set: Metric Pipe Catalog. I know the parts list was created in a previous version of civil (prob 2009) so I am not sure if that is the problem or if I am missing a step. I set the network catelog but that doesn't seem to have made any difference. I can even see the cad drawings within the catalog (C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\C3D 2011\enu\Pipes Catalog) Am I correct in thinking it should be as simple as copying the parts list from another drawing or is there more to it than that? I would really appreciate anyone's help on this. Unfortunately I am the only one in the office using this program and everything I know so far is from a tutorial. Thanks for your help in advance. Sooz
