I know this boat sailed several years ago, but we still have some projects in the Land Development format. Has anyone created a tool to import those old files into Civil 3D? It would help with our as-built drawings, because we have to update profiles manually.

We have a user that has an issue where LDD (2009) objects won’t unlock/close. For instance, if she opens a surface, it shows that its locked by her…but if she right clicks & closes it in Terrain Model Explorer, it still shows that it’s locked by her. Alignments are funky too. If she sets one to be current, it should typically unlock the last alignment…but it doesn’t & leaves behind a .lk# file. If I try the same process with the same files on my computer, it releases the locks just fine. She’s gotten pretty good at working around it by deleting the .lk# file from the LDD project folder…but this is obviously a pain.

Hello, I am pretty new to LDD and can not figure out how to crate a TIN from design contours. The design contours are polylines. If there is a step by step tutorial on how do do this, that would be great. I have been looking but have not found anything. Thanks for the help!

Thanks for trying to help. I am working in Land Desktop 2006. The sections I need to cut are very irregular. They are not on even stations, and they are NOT Perpendicular to the Alignment. Some of them even have angle points in the section line. Can you steer me to where and how I would define the sections for LDT to cut? The easiest thing would be if it let me pick polylines that defing the sections. I know this sounds wierd, but anyone that has done a flood study for FEMA or the Corps knows what I mean. Thanks for any help you can give, Jeff
