Guest Alan Cullen Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 Just got our new computers, and have finished loading 2007 onto them. Now, back with 2006 we could set osnaps to the function keys (e.g. F2 to snap to END). I have been told that you can't do this with 2007, if you can, can somebody please explain to me how to do it.... Otherwise could anyone tell me the most efficient way to apply osnaps. If it's true that we can no longer use the function keys for osnaps, then that really sucks !!!!! Thanks in advance.... Quote
Steven Bastiaanse Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 Go to help and in the Search tab, in the search box type "Shortcut Keys ". Then you get the explanation on how to create shortcut keys. Quote
Cad64 Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 I have endpt, midpt, center and intersection set as my running osnaps. If I need a different one, I hold down the shift key and right click to get the osnap pop-up menu. Quote
Ako Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 Yep. I use shift right click. Much faster than going for the F keys. Dave Quote
CarlB Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 Yes you can reassign function keys, according to Lynn Allen: http://aec.cadalyst.com/aec/article/articleDetail.jsp?id=196751&ref=25 Quote

Guest Alan Cullen Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Thanks everyone, I took the settings I had for 2006, and now all is sweet with the world. All working fine..... Thanks again. Quote
RobertR Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 I found this on Cadalyst http://www.cadalyst.com/cad/autocad/circles-and-lines-taking-cui-one-step-further-10546 Basically, it says to make a "command" (sans icon if you wish) and drag and drop into the shortcut key section. Edit the command while in the shortcut key section and assign a function key. Quote

RobertR Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 ReMark I hadn't noticed the thread date. But, since the link posted by CarlB was no longer valid, I added a newer link for those who come here after us.....seeking knowledge. Quote
ReMark Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Point taken. Thanks. BTW...Welcome to the CADTutor forum. Have you introduced yourself formally yet? P.S. - I still IM with Alan (the man from a land down under). Quote
danellis Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 I hope you realise I'm now going to spend all afternoon trying to remember the words to the Men at Work song to try and make that scan with it!! dJE Quote

RobertR Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Okay! I'm back from my nap! What did I miss? Quote
rkmcswain Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 Funny, I've been using the same (more or less) ***ACCELERATORS section of the .MNU file for this, since probably the mid 90's. Still works today. Quote
