Radius Problem

I'm trying to teach myself ACAD2004 and am working through some practice sheets and I've hit a problem that I just cannot solve.

I want to draw an arc (that according to the drawing I am working from is part of a circle with a 50mm radius) between a circle and the corner point of a line.

I've attached a .jpg and my .dwg if someone can advise me how to do it I'd be grateful.

I suspect that it is not entirely straight forward and a little ACAD voodoo will be involved.

not sure there is a command for this but you can work it out using your radius information, like this.

1, draw a circle of radius 50mm with its centre on the end of the 16mm straight line near the middle of the handle

2, draw a circle of radius 60mm with its centre on the centre of the radius 10mm bulb at the end of the handle, (60mm is your connecting arc radius + the radius of your bulb)

3, where the 60mm circle intersects the 50mm draw a third circle with a radius of 50mm

you should now be able to trim the last circle you have drawn to achieve your goal.

hehe it all comes with experience i was trained on the old drawing boards where we had to construct everything , ah the good old days lol, what a pain.....

Groutie, I don't think it has a use! It's just an exercise sheet I was given for drawing practice as I'm an AutoCad newbie. I like your 3D drawing. Waay beyond my ability at the moment though but hopefully I'll be there soon.

Look into the Tan Tan radius option under the circle command...See if that helps

Strange When i tried this it didn't work??? I'll try it later on,

There is a slight difference between the 60-50mm cirlce solution and the arc start end radius.

lol what a funkie lookin tool....not sure how useful it would be

1. make a line bet. the circle and and the rectangle to join your arc.

2. make a perpendicular line with a length of 50mm

3. draw a circle with Ø50mm

4 draw a line end-end to the drawn upside -down "t"

5 move the circle intersecting the diagonal line, eithe of the diagonal lines.

6 trim.

Given the same problem, I'll do it this way (see attachment).
