tinman Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 I have the student version of Autocad Mechanical 2009 and when plotting the drawing, the text " produced by an Autodesk Educational Product" appears on all four sides of the page. Can these be removed or at least limited to one side of the page only? It spoils every drawing and my one solution is to trim each side -not ideal! Maybe alter the margins?

alanjt Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 and your drawing is tainted with the student stamp
Cad64 Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 The stamp is there so that drawings produced with the student version cannot be used for commercial purposes. It cannot be removed. I'm sure your instructor doesn't mind that the stamp is on your drawings. See here for further discussion of the educational plot stamp: http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?t=39060
tinman Posted August 9, 2009 Author Posted August 9, 2009 Thanks for the prompt replies -I might just trim them off!
ReMark Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 Are you submitting the drawings as part of your class?
tinman Posted August 9, 2009 Author Posted August 9, 2009 No, the college has a fully licenced product, I assume, and the drawings print out as seen. My student version is for home projects and I just found it annoying that the text was on each margin .
ReMark Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 Home projects? Personal use then and not commercial use?
ReMark Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Search the forum. There is a recent discussion regarding removing the educational plot stamp. However, pay close attention to what the OP is going through. There is a price to be paid for using the student version for commercial purposes. It's your call.
tinman Posted August 15, 2009 Author Posted August 15, 2009 There is a price to be paid for using the student version for commercial purposes. It's your call. As I said in my previous post I`m using it for home projects ( model engineering ) and my course work revision.I`m currently unemployed and do not use the software in any commercial form.
ReMark Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 Circumvent the educational stamp at your own risk. Should it come back later to bite you in the backside you have no one but yourself to blame.
